Finance Data Migration Analyst (Aderant) 8Month FTC

Fixed-term contract for the duration of Programme Drive

The Opportunity

Lawfront is a fast-growing, PE-backed group of seven leading law firms, and through Programme Drive we are consolidating the group onto a single, modern technology stack, with Aderant Expert Sierra as the practice management and finance platform. Getting each hub firm’s finance data out of its legacy systems and cleanly into Aderant is one of the most important parts of that journey, and we are looking for a Finance Data Migration Analyst to join the team that delivers it.

This is a hands-on, fixed-term programme role focused squarely on discovery and migration rather than ongoing systems support. Working as part of the migration team, you will take the lead on data discovery for a group of two or three hub firms, getting to know the finance and accounts data held in their legacy systems, including SOSConnect, Proclaim, Partner for Windows, Miles 33, and Linetime Liberate, understanding how it is structured, and building the extract, transform, and load processes that move it into the Aderant Expert Sierra staging tables ready for import. You will work alongside the data, BA, and test teams throughout, and your work will determine how confident each firm can be in its finance data on the day it goes live.

If you know legal finance data inside out, are strong with SQL and ETL, and take real satisfaction in getting a complex data migration right, we would like to hear from you.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the discovery of finance and accounts data for your allocated hub firms (typically two or three), getting under the skin of their legacy systems, including SOSConnect, Proclaim, Partner for Windows, Miles 33, and Linetime Liberate, and profiling structure, quality, and quirks before any migration begins
  • Develop a deep, working understanding of legacy legal finance data, including the ledgers, balances, and transactional history that must be carried across accurately
  • Design and build the extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes that move finance data from legacy systems into the Aderant Expert Sierra staging tables ready for import
  • Develop and maintain the SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures that underpin extraction, transformation, and reconciliation
  • Design field mappings, transformation rules, and reconciliation checks that give the business confidence that finance data has moved completely and accurately
  • Build, run, and refine trial migrations, investigating exceptions and resolving data quality issues in partnership with the data and BA teams
  • Work closely with the QA and test team to validate migrated finance data against source systems, supporting reconciliation and go-live sign-off
  • Work with Finance stakeholders across the hub firms to understand their legacy data, agree mapping decisions, and confirm that what arrives in Aderant is right
  • Document data mappings, transformation logic, and migration runbooks clearly enough for both technical colleagues and the wider delivery team to rely on
  • Contribute to a repeatable finance migration approach that can be applied efficiently as each successive hub firm moves onto Aderant Expert Sierra

What You Will Bring

  • A track record in a finance systems, data migration, or data analyst role, ideally working with finance data in a professional services or legal environment
  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex query writing, stored procedure development, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation, applied to extraction, transformation, and reconciliation
  • Hands-on experience designing and building ETL processes to move and transform data between systems
  • A genuine understanding of legal or professional services finance data, including ledgers, billing, time recording, and matter accounting, so you can make sense of what the legacy systems hold
  • Experience profiling and working with data held in legacy practice management or accounts systems, and the patience to get to the bottom of its structure and quality
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with the tenacity to investigate data quality issues and the judgement to know what good looks like
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, comfortable working with both technical colleagues and senior Finance stakeholders who need answers, not jargon
